an engagement
We had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's, which mainly consisted of being lazy, enjoying each other's company, and cooking nice meals. Steve had to work on Christmas Day (which ended up only taking an hour or so), so we opened our gifts on Christmas Eve. The last gift was an unwrapped one from Steve to me, which came with a proposal. I think everyone who looks at the blog has probably heard the story via email, so I'll just leave it at a photo of the ring. It's a Haida killer whale, done by Ivan Thomas, an artist in Port Alberni. We both love it!

It's AMAZING!!! Congratulations, again.
As the Mother of the Groom..... I cannot tell you how thrilled I am that you said "yes"!!!! I welcome you to our family (well, gosh, you've been part of the family for years... but it's nice to make it official!)...
When I see the two of you together, I just "know".... it's looked right for years..... and obviously both of you think it's right too!
I wish you all the best!
Love,
Mom
Hmmm... I didn't get an email, so I demand the engagement story! (it's Sarah by the way). Congratulations - no surprise of course, but couldn't be more happy for the two of you!
I'm very happy for both of you - congratulations.
